THE RICHARDS COLLECTION ANNOUNCES REVITALIZATION OF RETAIL DESTINATION IN MANDEVILLE,
LAUNCHES THE SHOPS AT 1200 WEST
MANDEVILLE, La. – June 10, 2021 – The Richards Collection, a Louisiana-based commercial real estate development and property management firm, today announced the launch of The Shops at 1200 West, a premier retail destination in Mandeville.
The firm acquired the 47,067-square-foot shopping center from 1200 Place LLC in January 2021 for $5.5 million and immediately began façade improvements to the property and surrounding infrastructure as well as rebranding the shopping center to The Shops at 1200 West, supported by a robust web and social media presence and an active calendar of upcoming community events.

In unveiling these plans, Richards also announced Fat Boy’s Pizza as a new tenant for The Shops at 1200 West. Fat Boy’s Pizza is a Louisiana-based, fast-casual pizza concept that sells oversized pizza and full pies in a fun, family-friendly environment. Founded in Metairie, La. in 2018, the restaurant concept has quickly grown to four locations, including Mandeville, with new concepts planned for the French Quarter in New Orleans and Hattiesburg, Miss. in summer 2021.
Richards also announced a series of community events The Shops at 1200 West is planning for the coming months in collaboration with surrounding residential communities and neighboring schools, including a major holiday celebration for the last two weeks in December.
The Mandeville Planning & Zoning Commission voted May 25 to approve a sign variance for the retail center, enabling The Richards Collection to take the final steps to formally introduce The Shops at 1200 West to the Mandeville community. Property managers will install a new, modern sign and aesthetic entryway for the center in the coming days.

Richards is also overseeing the build-out of Clearview City Center, the dynamic live-work-play destination under construction in Metairie, as well as managing other Louisiana-based retail centers that include The Commons at Clearview City Center also in Metairie and The Shops at New Iberia, a shopping center in New Iberia anchored by Rouses Market.
